The Light Nursery and Primary School currently teaches students through Year 6. There is a secondary school located across the creek at Ikaare, but not all of the children are able to continue their education. Lady Salami, Headmistress of the Light Nursery and Primary School, expressed a desire to teach some of the older students vocational skills that they can use to support themselves. In response, a supporter of the Foundation generously donated two new sewing machines, a supply of notions and fabric to the school. The sewing machines can be operated manually or plugged in and run by the generator. In a place without mains power, this is a much-needed feature. We look forward to hearing of the students’ accomplishments!
