School Excursion to Nestle Nigeria Plc in Agbara, Ogun State

The Ishahayi Beach school successfully embarked on its inaugural school excursion recently with a trip to Nestle Nigeria Limited in Agbara Industrial Estate in Ogun State. Historically, excursions are recognised as a way to enhance the knowledge of students beyond the four walls of the classroom; indeed, our trip to Nestle achieved this objective and much more.
The trip was made using a combination of sea and land transport as they travelled by boat from the island where the school is located to the shore and then travelled the rest of the way to the Nestle factory by road. In total, there were 20 students and 2 teachers that went on the trip.
During the visit, they were given a guided tour of the factory, exposed to enlightening presentations by Nestle staff and given the opportunity to participate in a few hands-on learning activities. Additionally, the students were treated to a delicious breakfast & lunch on-site and each given complimentary Nestle products. The students got the chance to take lovely pictures to capture the memorable day trip.
The trip achieved the intended purpose of reinforcing classroom learning, promoting team bonding and providing the opportunity for the team to explore new environments together.
Memories of educational trips like these are among the most prominent of the formative years, largely because they are a welcome break in the daily routine for both the students and the teachers.
Our students returned from the excursion changed, and excited about what the future holds for them. They got to explore the world outside their local environment and visited a prominent company in Nigeria.
We hope that this will mark the beginning of many more educational trips for our students with the goal of broadening their minds and are looking forward to partnering with prospective sponsors in the near future.
The students and teachers & all of us at the Ishahayi Beach School will like to say a BIG THANK YOU to Nestle Foods for their support. We are thankful to Nestle for giving our students a wonderful experience which we believe will have a lasting positive effect in their lives.
